Weather is on a steady incline and we are not complaining! With warm weather comes wonderful fresh produce. Our high quality handcrafted rye bread is one of the best options for those of you trying to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Each of our breads are a great combination with the vast world of fresh foods. We have gathered healthy rye recipes from our favorite bloggers to satisfy your hunger as we progress into the warmer season.
Scrumptiously Skinny – Tomato Goat and Cheese Crostini
For this first recipe we have found one our favorite new bloggers. Sarah and her blog – Scrumptiously Skinny – is dedicated to providing healthy and very simple recipes. This appetizer (or how Sarah and her Italian family call it – antipasto) is perfect for your first outdoor party of the year. With only five simple ingredients, we were able to make this recipe in under 30 minutes. The combination of cherry tomatoes and balsamic adds an explosion of fresh and zesty flavors to your taste buds. We recommend trying this recipe with any of our breads, but we enjoyed it toasted on our Rubschlager rye bread.
Lemon Fire Brigade – Gruyere Steeped Celery Root and Pumpernickel Rye Toasts
For the next recipe, Sara of Lemon Fire Brigade provides a recipe that almost looks to good to eat! She has an art to the way she presents her food and it looks almost too good to eat. Although this recipe will take a little longer to make, it will be worth the wait! With all of these fresh ingredients, this recipe has farmers market written all over it. After you make a trip to the market, this dish will bring spring right in no matter what the weather is outside.
A Beautiful Plate – Spicy Hummus Avocado Toast Feta
Another food blogger and another very simple and healthy recipe. Laura from ‘A Beautiful Plate‘ has a number of great recipes, but we really enjoyed making this flavorful dish. Starting with the whole grain bread for this recipe, she kicks it off with a bang by adding a spread of spicy hummus. After that it is only three more fresh ingredients of avocado, feta, and micro greens, and you are done! Like we said, a very simple recipe that can be enjoyed for lunch or as a mid day snack.
This blog post is more of a smorgasbord of different flavorful ideas based around ricotta crostini. Karen from Honestly Yum uses a combination of freshly made ricotta and a number of other healthy foods. What we like about this is that you can be as creative as you want and there really are no wrong choices. You can even set it up as a DIY for the guests at your next party. Just make the ricotta a day before and then have a collection of different fresh ingredients to make your own. We recommend experimenting with any of our breads.
